Now

Thailand is our new home for possibly until 2030 as we’ve recently had our DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) approved. It will be an interesting 5 years, that’s for sure. But again, I feel our lives have always been quite interesting in recent years. We’ve been experiencing different ways of life for the past 10 years not only because the inflationary economy is engulfing us but also because we enjoy experiencing the different ways people from other cultures go about their days. However, we would also like to have a semi-permanent base that we could return to. For the next couple of years, that will be in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In terms of work, I’m currently in a transition period, a career shift — throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Currently experimenting with:

  • Expressing who I am and demonstrating what I can do using this site
  • Learning two new languages – a spoken language and a computer language
  • Exploring deep research and see where that leads

Before I have to leave Thailand in April next year to renew my entry, I have three goals (in no particular order):

  • Being able to hold a basic conversation in Thai
  • Knowing enough C (the programming language) to start developing a playdate game without using AI
  • Climb at least one V7 boulder

I will keep logs on each of these goals, in order to keep tab and share my progress.
